In the UK there are around 320,000 people living on the streets – a number which has risen by 4% in the last year.
To try and help make a real difference in the local community and to tackle the issue, the Huddersfield Town Foundation proudly hosted its second Big Sleep Out.
On Friday 8th March 2019, The John Smith’s Stadium opened its doors to raise money for causes supporting homeless people in our local community under the banner of the Town Foundation.
James, Andy T, Karen, Faye, Andy W, Jennifer, Petra and Gaynor from Thornhill Dental braved the outdoors to raise awareness and money for an extremely important cause.
We’re super proud to announce our grand total raised for The Big Sleepout was £1911.10.
The money raised is distributed by The Huddersfield Town Foundation to local charities tackling homelessness. In 2018’s event, the charities included Huddersfield Mission, Batley care and drop-in, Batley Food Bank, Dewsbury Baptist Church, One Big Family and The Welcome Centre.
We’re thrilled to have been able to support these local charities with the fantastic and vital work they do within our community.
